Graham Anthony - Christmas Tunes upstairs at Stansted House

As a student I was a resident singer at The Gypsy Davy Folk Club in Oxford . I sang as a regular thing at The Randolph Hotel Oxford. For years I have covered clubs, pubs, restaurants and holiday parks in the UK and overseas from Lands End to Hastings up to the Midlands, as well as resident singer at a restaurant when we lived in Scotland . I worked for 9 years at a London nightclub, cabaret and dining venue as the resident singer guitarist working with The Searchers, Freddie and the dreamers, the late Dave Allen and a host of top acts.

I now work with professional backing tracks and have over 500 songs from 1930 onwards, standards, ballads, rock, dance, country and shows and musicals. I love restaurant work because I can sing a lot of gentle "quality" numbers.  I sang for 5 years in the executive dining room at Portsmouth football club. Weddings, birthday and retirement parties are regular work as well as residential Care homes. Locally 'The Partridge' at Singleton with Tony was a regular venue for 3 years.

Paul Bowers - 12.30pm - Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th November 2011

Paul lives locally at Gosport having moved there after retiring from the Hampshire Constabulary following 32 years service and a varied career which included a ten year period as a forensic photographer. Since his retirement in 2000 he has built up a portfolio of differing ways to spend his time. These have included teaching photography to students with learning difficulties and disabilities at Eastleigh College and working with World Challenge as an expedition leader, showing youngsters how to discover the joys of helping others and achieving their own personal goals.

For more than 12 years he has been entertaining clubs, groups and societies as a speaker, talking about adventure trekking and illustrating these talks with his own spectacular photographs. He is a listed speaker for the Woman’s Institute and the Horticultural Club circuit in Hampshire. He has given his talks on board cruise ships too. His talks include, Walking The Inca Trail, Exploring Everest, The Orang Utans of Borneo and many others.

His friend Roy Lewis owns Hebridean Liqueurs (www.hebridean-liqueurs.co.uk), a company that manufactures its own delicious whisky, brandy and rum liqueurs, and six years ago after a few years of trying, Roy finally persuaded Paul to act as a distributer for his company in Hampshire. Paul has added a presentation on whisky and liqueurs to his list of talks, but instead of showing photographs he gives away samples. These talks are becoming very popular!

Since his retirement Paul has been busy perfecting the art of making luxury Christmas Puddings and four years ago he started to sell his puddings on a commercial basis. This enterprise is gradually expanding and he now produces puddings for three different local breweries. As you might expect his puddings are individually hand mixed, traditionally steam cooked and each contain a generous helping of real ale and Lord Nelson Spiced Rum Liqueur.

Paul has an easy, happy and humorous approach to life and this becomes evident when you attend any of his presentations.

Sharon Petersen - 2.30pm - Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th November 2011

My name is Sharon Petersen and my children and I live in Clanfield. I am a 45 year old mum of five children and over a five year period, whilst my children were young and whilst caring for my terminally ill husband, I wrote ten connected children's stories. All ten stories have recently been published in a book called 'The Naturals'. They are heart-warming stories to be read to 4-10 year olds, and humorously reflect compassion, hope and a sense of belonging within our Natural World.

'The Naturals' embraces children, parents and grandparents alike and shows children in a fun and emotive way just how special and wonderful our Natural World is, helping to inspire within young hearts and minds a sense of connection and belonging in the world which I hope will encourage children to want to protect our natural habitat.

Alongside the ten stories are thought-provoking questions for adults and children to ponder together. As well as sound moral values, the ethos behind 'The Naturals' is in this Native American Proverb; 'We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children'.  My aim for 'The Naturals' is to encourage children to revere, respect and protect our Natural World.

There are also more than 50 beautiful illustrations inside 'The Naturals', painted by local Lovedean artist, Georgina Walton.

A percentage of my profit will be donated to the NSPCC to help stop child abuse; as well as to the WWT to help save wetlands for wildlife.
